- To recruit a random sample of 20 223 adults aged between 40 and 69 years from four metropolitan areas of Quebec and to study the genomics factors on health and disease in an ageing population.
- To create a bank containing data on health and a biobank containing biological material.
- To allow access to these banks to researchers whose studies meet the scientific and ethical requirements for the validation of their work and for further populational research.
- To confirm the leadership of Quebec and Canada in large genomics studies of people who analyse the interactions between genes and between genes and environment.
- To develop necessary tools for the transfer of genomics knowledge in the field of public health.
